These heavy weight  resin elephants look like they are made of ebony.
They are fairly traded fromThailand.
To make them, the resin is poured into a mould and a hardening agent is added. After 10-15 minutes it is removed from the mould and left to dry for 1-2 hours. It is then sanded smooth and dipped in a stain for 10 minutes. When dry it is polished to create the beautiful high shine finish.
